Baby’s 2nd Christmas
Your baby’s second Christmas could fall anywhere between 12 and 24 months old.
Say your baby is born in March. Their first Christmas they were 9 months and now their second Christmas they will 21 months old.
Maybe your baby has an October birthday, so Christmas is a great opportunity to purchase any gifts they did not receive.
Let’s dive into shopping for your baby’s second Christmas.
Budget
Before doing anything we need to talk budget. Budget is going to be very personal and unique to every family. Your child is under two years old. They are not going to remember this Christmas so remember do not go crazy.
Some people are curious about what other people budget. You really can’t worry about this though. You have to do what is right for your family.
Along with the budget have a rough plan of what types of gifts you plan to purchase and roughly what those will cost. You can categorize gifts by type or by size.
For example, needs, wants, educational, and much more.
Of course, sizes fall into large, medium, and then small which could be consider stocking stuffers.
I like to say start with one large item, three medium, and then fill the stocking as needed. These items could fall into these general price ranges.
Large Items $50 or more
Medium Items $20-$50
Stocking Stuffers $20 or less
Let’s take a look at an example.
1 Large Item $85
1 Medium Item $25
1 Medium Item $35
1 Medium Item $45
Stocking stuffers $35 total
Christmas Total $225
Gifts
Now let’s dive into my recommend gift ideas.
I have broken them down by size for you today.
Large Items
Medium Items
Stocking Stuffers
Hopefully, these gift ideas help you create your wish list for your baby’s second Christmas.
Tight Budget
If you are a family on a tight budget there are ways to stretch your Christmas budget.
I recommend you create a wish list for family members who plan to purchase Christmas gifts. Grandparents want to spoil their grandchildren! It’s that easy!
If your budget is tight skip on the large item. Your child could love a medium item just as much for half the cost. Large items are often luxuries and not necessities.
For example, you could skip the water table and still have a blast with a couple of buckets and measuring cups from the thrift store or dollar store.
Don’t stress because at the end of the day your child will be blessed with whatever they receive.
Traditions
This is a great year to continue to establish traditions. Think about that first Christmas and what you would like to change for this year. Your child is going to be a lot more aware of this Christmas compared to their first.
These traditions can include things not related to gifts. You could decorate Christmas cookies, read holiday books, or spend time picking out the perfect Christmas tree.
Think outside of gifts to create memories this year.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
