Looking for the perfect stroller is a difficult task. I understand the overwhelm. This is a large purchase and you don’t want to end up with a stroller you dislike.

With our first baby, we registered for the Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Travel System. It came with the infant car seat and one base. We purchased an additional two bases.

We have been happily using this stroller for 17 months. We fully enjoy this stroller. It is the only one we currently own. However, everything can come with pros and cons.

Keep reading to hear about the good and the bad. See if any of these aspects are deal breakers for you. When it comes to a stroller think about how you will be using it and what it needs to be capable of to meet your specific needs.

Let’s start with the pros.

Pros

3 in 1

You can purchase this stroller as 3 in 1. You get the stroller, infant car seat, and a base to go with it. For the price, I think this is a great deal. I have an article breaking down the prices and values of large baby items you can check out.

Purchasing these items together guarantees they are compatible. This was important to us.

Long Life

A major pro with the Graco FastAction Fold Jogger is how long of a life it has. Because the infant car seat is available the stroller can safely be used from birth up to about 50 pounds.

Once your baby is ready to move from using the infant car seat to sitting independently in the stroller you can use the 5 point harness to help keep them in place.

Folding & Releasing

Folding up this stroller is overall quite simple. You grab a quick close strap and lift up. To release the stroller and allow it to open you just have to release one little spot on the side. You do need to have the front wheel in the correct position before collapsing though. I list this later as a con.

When you fold the stroller there is this kickstand that helps it balance while standing upright. This comes in handy more than I think I realized it would.

When you are loading or unloading the stroller out of your trunk it isn’t lying on the ground or falling over. It will stand up on its own while your hands are taking care of opening your trunk or doing whatever else needs to be done.

Features

It has two cup holders for the pusher and two cup holders for your child. There is an area to put your keys and phone. I will touch on this in the cons.

The basket underneath is pretty large by my standards. It is tight to fit an entire diaper bag but can be done if yours is small.

A lot of diaper bags come with clips to attach to the handle, so that is an option as well. Just always watch that the weight won’t tip your stroller.

Good stroller

This is a totally solid stroller. If you want a jogger for the most part this is going to fit your needs.

Cons

Size

Like with most joggers the stroller is large, even when collapsed. This comes with the type of stroller you are purchasing. This is also not the most lightweight stroller. Getting this thing into my car trunk and out does take some muscle, but as a fairly average healthy adult, I am capable of handling it myself.

I will also say though it is a big stroller it does fit into both my car and my husband’s car trunk and we drive a Honda Accord and a Honda Civic. The civic is a small car and we can get it in there.

We are able to load it into our vehicles with the wheels attached, but if needed they do easily come off and are easily reattached. This can help it more easily lit into a small space.

Pro-Tip: Do not have the back two wheels locked when loading. If the large back wheels are free to roll it is easy to load. You can lift it into the trunk and sort of roll it into place.

Not a Double

This stroller is not able to carry multiple children. Popular strollers in the current market come with various attachments that allow a single stroller to convert to a double stroller. This is not the case with the Graco FastAction Fold Jogger. Just want to make that completely clear.

Flat for Sleeping

The seat recline does not go back all the way to lay flat. There is a slight incline. It would be nice to go all the way flat to allow an infant to sleep better. Bassinet features in strollers are very common. I just want to make it clear that you cannot go all the way flat in recline on this stroller. This isn’t a make or break for most people.

Phone Holder

The phone holder for mom or dad is not likely to fit your phone. My phone is an average size phone and it definitely doesn’t fit in the center space. I typically put it in the cupholder.

Collapse

To properly collapse the stroller you need to go to the front wheel and lock it into the straight setting. This isn’t necessarily a con. It is a step you need to do before collapsing the stroller and something that you have to get used to doing.

Pro-Tip: After about a month of use the front wheel got a bit difficult to turn. We took the wheel off and put some grease on it. Made a world of difference!

No Shocks

This is a jogger. I would not say this is a hiking stroller. Not sure if that is actually a thing. This stroller can handle a lot, don’t get me wrong. Your baby though will feel the bumps to a certain extent. There are no shocks to absorb anything.

Off-Roading

This stroller is great for taking to a place such as an apple orchard. You will be able to handle the terrain, but I wouldn’t take this stroller on an intense hiking trail.

I also find this stroller difficult to handle on stairs. All strollers can be tricky on stairs, but I feel that the three-wheel triangle structure can be a bit tricky.

Would I recommend this stroller to a friend?

Yes, I would. This stroller is serving our needs. We frequently take walks around the neighborhood and go to various parks. We have put some miles on our stroller for sure.

If I were to recommend this to a friend I would touch on all the pros and cons listed above.

Would I purchase this stroller again?

I think I would.

The only reason I second guess this stroller is for when we have a second child. My thinking is I will baby wear the newborn and have my older child continue to ride in the stroller. And by the time my second child is ready to use the stroller my first will want to get out and walk.

That or maybe by then we will cave and get a double stroller.

Overall I am happy with the decision we made to register for this stroller, car seat, and base combo. The Graco Factaction Fold Jogger has been a great stroller for us. We are 17 months and going strong with it.
